Family holidays in Morocco work best when the trip is private: you stop when the children need a break, the driver knows where to find clean toilets and good food, and the route never feels rushed. We plan family trips with shorter driving days, rooms that fit everyone and activities that children remember for years.
What makes our family holidays in Morocco different
- A private vehicle with child seats on request
- Riads and hotels with family rooms and, where possible, a swimming pool
- Maximum 4–5 hours of driving per day, split by stops
- Camel rides at a gentle pace and a comfortable desert camp with real beds
- Flexible meals – we know where to find pizza as well as tagine
Sample 6-day family route
Two nights in Marrakech with a horse-carriage ride and the Majorelle Garden, a day in the Atlas Mountains with a Berber family lunch, a night in the Dades Valley, then the highlight: camels, sandboarding and a night under the stars in the Merzouga dunes. On the way back the children can explore the film-set kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou.
A typical day on family holidays in Morocco
We start after breakfast, never at dawn, and stop every hour and a half for a stretch, a fresh orange juice or a look at a village market. Lunch is in a simple family restaurant along the road, and we aim to arrive at the next hotel by mid-afternoon so there is time to swim, play or rest. In the desert, the camel ride starts about an hour before sunset; children love climbing the dunes and sliding down on sandboards before dinner around the fire.
Your driver becomes part of the trip: patient, careful on the road and happy to explain the landscapes in simple words. It is one of the reasons parents tell us private family holidays in Morocco feel easier than they expected.
Good to know
School holidays at Easter and in October are perfect for family holidays in Morocco: warm days and cool nights in the desert. Summer is hot inland, so we suggest the mountains and the coast instead. Ask us – we will adapt every day to the ages of your children.

Family Holidays in Morocco: frequently asked questions
What age is good for family holidays in Morocco?
Children of all ages travel happily in Morocco. With toddlers we keep driving days short; from about six years old, camel rides and the desert camp become the highlight of the trip.
Are camel rides safe for children?
Yes. Camels walk slowly and are led by a guide on foot. Small children can ride with a parent, and the ride to camp can be shortened.
Can we have family rooms?
Yes. We choose riads and hotels with family rooms or connecting rooms, and in the desert we book family tents.
